It's about New York in 1922 Nick Carraway buys a house on Long Island. The house next door is owned by the fabulously rich and handsome Jay Gatsby. Nick's cousin, Daisy is young, beautiful and desperately unhappily married. Nick soon finds himself an intermediary between the reunited lovers, Daisy and Gatsby.
The second book from F. Scott Fitzgerald already in my book shelf :) The Great Gatsby is a novel adapted into the movie starring Leonardo di Caprio. I haven't watch the movie so I think I should read the novel first then go watch the movie.
This is a simple yet interesting story. And still about love. Nick Carraway act as a narrator and also got a little love line in here. But his cousin, Daisy, a beautiful glamour and dangerous woman got a complicated love story. Since it's her and Gatsby love story. Jay Gatsby is a famous, rich and controversial man who fall in love with Daisy since young. Years by years, as time goes by, finally he could meet her lover again but unfortunately Daisy already got married with Tom Buchanan. But their life never happy because Tom play behind Daisy with another woman and Daisy already knew that but can't do anything except got her eyes on her husband.
Jay's only last dream is to be a success man and Got Married with Daisy. But he asked too much that Daisy couldn't promise it. Until the day he died, Jay Gatsby still holding his dream to be with Daisy. Daisy loves him but she also (ever) loved her husband.
Nobody knows (except Nick) that Jay Gatsby is a big liar. He's not graduated from Oxford or come from a rich family. All of his successful life right now is purely from his hard work and his painful. It teaches us something that everybody has a dream. And like Gatsby, we must all follow our dream wherever it takes us.
